</p><div style="padding: 0px 0px 0px 5px; float: right;"><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[   tweetmeme_url = 'http://www.davidfrosdick.com/using-roboform-with-google-chrome/';  tweetmeme_source = 'davidfrosdick'; // ]]&gt;</script><br />
<script src="http://tweetmeme.com/i/scripts/button.js" type="text/javascript"></script></div>
<p><span class="drop_cap">I</span>f you are a user of <a title="RoboForm" href="http://www.davidfrosdick.com/using-roboform-quick-launch/">RoboForm</a> then you probably will not be <em>fully</em> using Google Chrome as your default browser.</p>
<p>That will probably change after your read this article.</p>
<p>As Google Chrome is the new kid on the block it was only a matter of time before extensions would be released.  What I found today may have been around for a while but I haven&#8217;t seen it before so I thought I would film this tutorial for you.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve not been using Chrome only because I use RoboForm daily for the sites I visit and they didn&#8217;t work together.</p>
<p><span id="more-767"></span></p>
<h2><img class="alignright" title="Google Chrome" src="http://dfimg.s3.amazonaws.com/chromelogo.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="280" />Chrome Extensions</h2>
<p>Google have just recently released <a title="Google Chrome Extensions" href="http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/extensions-bookmark-sync-and-more-for.html" target="_blank">Google Chrome Extensions</a> for the Chrome browser which allows you to add little widgets to enhance your browsing experience.  You can see a full list of Chrome Extension in the extensions gallery at: <a title="Extensions Gallery" href="https://chrome.google.com/extensions" target="_blank">https://chrome.google.com/extensions</a></p>
<p>After a little research I found what I&#8217;ve been looking for!  The long awaited RoboForm extension.</p>
<p>After installing it I was disappointed as the extension works nothing like RoboForm for Firefox.  I&#8217;m sure Google will iron out any issues over time (please Google Chrome Team).</p>
<h2>Chromium</h2>
<p>Anyway after a little further reading I found <strong>Chromium</strong>, the open source version of Chrome and also part of a much bigger project which is the <a title="Chromium OS" href="http://dev.chromium.org/chromium-os" target="_blank">Chromium OS</a> (something I can&#8217;t wait to see).  Chromium functions in excatly the same way as Chrome but is also another browser which runs off its own identity.  The Chromium logo uses a nice blue colour scheme so you can see the difference in browsers.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve not looked into Chromium much but all that matters to me is that I can run RoboForm with Chrome, so today I&#8217;m going to be putting it through its paces.</p>
<h2>Video &#8211; How to Setup RoboForm for Google Chrome</h2>
<p>This video tutorial covers more information on how you can start using Chrome.</p>
<p>Find the RoboForm for Chrome tutorial here: <a title="RoboForm for Chrome" href="http://www.roboform.com/chrome.html" target="_blank">http://www.roboform.com/chrome.html</a></p>

<p><span class="drop_cap">I</span> use RoboForm to manage  website passwords and this week I found a little shortcut for helping me login to a site <em><strong>even</strong></em> quicker than I already do.</p>
<p>With the internet moving along at 500mph it seems nowadays every site you visit requires you to create a user account either before you can post comments, view content or socialise with other members.</p>
<p><span id="more-720"></span></p>
<p>I wrote a short article about <a title="RoboForm" href="http://www.davidfrosdick.com/roboform-the-best-password-manager/">RoboForm</a> and since then I now have hundreds of passwords stored and without RoboForm automating my logins, browsing multiple sites would become tiresome.</p>
<h4>Why not use the browser to store passwords?</h4>
<p>Yes browsers do store passwords but they are not totally secure.  Anyone who has access to your computer can access your private sites and act as you.  Browser&#8217;s can be hacked and if you have all the passwords stored in your browser then they are also stored somewhere within your computer system and  probably unencrypted.   Also if your computer crashed you could easily loose all your passwords.</p>
<p>As I <a title="work with MemberGate" href="http://www.davidfrosdick.com/your-membergate-webmaster/">work with MemberGate</a> I can find myself visiting nearly hundred different sites a day and having RoboForm synched across multiple computers means I can always access my password and I only have to <a title="make stronger passwords" href="http://www.davidfrosdick.com/check-your-passwords/"><strong>remember one password</strong></a>.</p>
<h4>The RoboForm Quick Launch Video</h4>
<p>You can download <a title="Download RoboForm" href="http://www.roboform.com/dist/affs/AiRoboForm-d1598.exe">RoboForm here</a>.</p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
   var playerhost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://davidvideo.s3.amazonaws.com/tow/ezs3js/secure/" : "http://davidvideo.s3.amazonaws.com/tow/ezs3js/player/"); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + playerhost + "flv/CEFF3142-BE8B-ACF2-A6DBE90F61B5DB32.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<strong>What password manage do you use?</strong></p>
<p><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been looking for a password manager for my iPhone as it would be extra handy to sync my paswords onto my phone.  If you know of something please let me know.</p>
